The day begins at 8:30 AM for those departing from Napoli Centrale Station. Inside the station, our staff will welcome you at the agency desk, where you’ll receive your tickets, a quick briefing, and all the essentials for your journey. When you’ll arrive at the station a private shuttle will be waiting to take you further up the slope. As you gain altitude, the volcano looms ahead—an exciting glimpse of what’s to come.
At Vesuvio Drive, your e-bike will be ready and waiting. After a short safety briefing and helmet fitting, you’ll set off on the Strada Matrone, a scenic and peaceful ride along the slope of the volcano. With the help of the e-bike, even the uphill sections feel easy—letting you fully enjoy the views, the quiet forest, and the anticipation of what lies ahead.
You’ll leave your bikes at around 800 meters altitude and begin the hike toward the crater. The trail gently winds upward, revealing more and more of the surrounding landscape—from ancient lava flows to panoramic views of the coastline. It’s an accessible walk, perfect for nature lovers and curious explorers alike. After a 40-minute walk, you’ll arrive at the entrance gates to the crater. With your ticket already in hand, you’ll pass through and begin the most impressive part of the journey—walking along the rim of the legendary Gran Cono. Steam rises, the ground feels alive, and the vast crater opens before you in all its rugged beauty.
You’ll have a full hour to explore the crater area at your own pace. Take photos, listen to guides share volcanic history, or simply take in the atmosphere—both eerie and magnificent—of standing on one of the world’s most iconic volcanoes. For those who selected the aperitif option, it’s time for a relaxing moment.
